Stolen Words
Stolen words
You’ve stolen words from me
Every day
For years.
You thief.
Is it me? Is it you?
Who do you blame? They ask
I can’t blame anyone
For those stolen words.
It’s supposed to be like this
I know everything happens the way
It’s meant to.
But I can’t help asking myself
Why?
Somedays I say I know
I’m not sure if
I’m lying to myself
It’s a whirlwind of
Embarrassment
Shame
Worrying
Loneliness
You’ve stolen my words
Some, but not all.
You’ve ripped them from my lips.
but I’m
learning
&
growing
I’m taking those words back
