Diamond Heart
Sometimes it loved
Like the numbers
On the fractured glass
Sometimes it crashed
As the minutes ticked by
Reminders of failure
Sometimes it cared.
But the button is pressed
And the blood drains
It never dies.
Like diamond against glass
It cracks
Then shatters
My heart is glass
Yours is diamond
Crimson drips
From your hands
The glass fragments
Don't cut you
Your skin is too thick
You always told me
Mine was too thin
And now your
Diamond heart
Drags along my skin
What trails behind
Your diamond heart
Is not red
It’s midnight black
And it’s beautiful.
